Photo Friday #8: Suspicious of Snow

Every year, B forgets what snow is and he’s very hesitant to venture out in it. The picture below captures his “considering” expression while he debates the merits of going on a journey. We have been very fortunate in Southern Ontario in terms of snowfall this year (read: we haven’t had much), so B forgets what snow is each time and we go through the introduction process repeatedly.

It is adorable to dress animals up, but I (usually) refrain unless there is a distinct purpose. Since B is a boxer, he has short fur and thus needs a coat during the cold winter months. I feel that all dogs should wear winter boots because not everyone uses pet friendly salt on their part of the sidewalk and bleeding paws are no fun for anyone.

Do you dress your dog up in winter gear? Or maybe just for fun?

2Disclosure: if you buy any of these products from me, or do any of your shopping through my store, my sweet boxer, B, will get some treat money. He thanks you in advance for supporting his cookie addiction and I thank you for supporting my blog.

  1. He’s adorable! My little one is a long-haired dog, but small. She gets extremely cold in the Winter, so I usually don her with a sweater or a hoodie. Glad he’s getting acclimated once again!

  2. Thank you! He’s cuddled up on the couch with me as we speak πŸ™‚

In addition to being snowy, it’s also -15, so poor B wants nothing to do with the outside (again!).

What kind of dog do you have? B loves to play with the little ones and they are either scared of him or dominate him, lol.

  3. We do not dress our dog in any winter gear 😎 as it does not get that cold in Florida. And as for dressing for fun our little dog would rather not. As it is annoying. I really believe she would rather us spend the money on edible doggie treats. 😊

    1. I think B realizes that he gets extra attention when he’s all dolled up. Sometimes he gives me these imploring looks like, “really?” but then everyone wants to pet him so he puts up with it.

I have a lot of faith in B’s intelligence πŸ˜€

  4. It is always interesting to see how different our little friends react to snow. My dog usually does not like to go swimming but on the other hand he loves to play in the snow. Obviously preferences can vary.

    1. Thank you, I appreciate that! He’s our sweet little boy and we love him so much. B will be featured in Monday’s post in his very first meme (which is completely hilarious and I can’t wait to post!).

It’s been freezing rain here the last few days, so poor B hasn’t wanted to go outside. He’s been lazing around the house and periodically playing with his toys.

Boxers usually have a lot of energy, and B does have his spurts of crazy, but he’s usually pretty low key and lazy. We will be taking him up to our new cottage just as soon as the weather turns warm!
